Frequently Asked Questions

What should I bring with me for a tour in Wadi Rum?

We recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a light jacket or sweater for the evenings, as desert nights can get cool even in summer. A reusable water bottle is also a good idea, though we provide water. For overnight stays, bring your personal toiletries and a small towel. A camera is a must to capture the stunning scenery!

Is Wadi Rum safe for tourists?

Yes, Wadi Rum is generally a very safe destination for tourists. We, as local Bedouin guides, are experienced and know the desert intimately. Standard travel precautions should always be taken, but specific safety concerns within Wadi Rum are minimal when you are with a registered guide.

What is the best time of year to visit Wadi Rum?

Wadi Rum can be visited year-round. The most popular times are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when temperatures are moderate and pleasant for hiking and outdoor activities. Winter (December to February) can be cold, especially at night, but offers clear skies. Summer (June to August) can be very hot during the day, so tours are often adjusted to cooler parts of the day.

Do I need to pay an entrance fee to Wadi Rum?

Yes, there is an entrance fee to the Wadi Rum Protected Area, which is usually paid at the Visitor Centre upon arrival. This fee is typically 5 JD per person and is not included in our tour prices unless specifically stated. If you have a Jordan Pass, the entrance fee to Wadi Rum is included.

What kind of accommodation is provided for overnight tours?

For our "Overnight in Traditional Bedouin Camp" tours, you will stay in private tents made of goat hair, equipped with comfortable mattresses, pillows, and blankets. Bathroom facilities (toilets and sometimes showers) are shared. For "Sleep Under the Stars" experiences, we provide mattresses, pillows, and blankets for sleeping in a sheltered outdoor location or a cave.

What type of food is served on the tours?

We serve traditional Bedouin cuisine. For lunch on full-day tours, this is often a freshly cooked meal prepared by your guide in the desert. For dinner at the camp, you'll typically enjoy Zarb (meat and vegetables cooked underground in a traditional Bedouin oven), along with various salads, rice, and bread. Breakfast usually includes items like bread, eggs, cheese, jam, and tea. Vegetarian options are always available upon request – please let us know in advance.

How do I book a tour?

You can book a tour by contacting us through the inquiry form on our Contact Page, or by sending us an email or WhatsApp message with your preferred tour, dates, and number of people. We will then confirm availability and provide you with payment details.

What are the payment options?

We typically accept cash payment in Jordanian Dinars (JD) upon arrival in Wadi Rum. For some bookings or larger groups, a deposit via bank transfer or online payment might be requested. We will discuss payment options with you when you make your inquiry.
